Hyde United have announced the return of fan favourite Tom Pratt, who made 223 appearances for the club between 2017 and 2023.

After two seasons away with Guiseley and Nantwich Town, the former skipper has returned home.

Following his return, Pratt told the club: “I’m buzzing to be back. It was a no-brainer for me and I can’t wait to get started.”

“Pratty has been away for a couple of seasons but he has always spoken about wanting to come back, and it’s a deal that suits both parties,” added Hyde boss Nick Spooner.

The club have also confirmed the signing of highly-rated left back Taylor McMahon from Irlam.

The former Stalybridge Celtic man caught the eyes of Nick Spooner with his performance against the Tigers in last season’s Manchester Premier Cup final.

“Taylor is somebody who we’ve kept tabs on for a while,” said Spooner.

“We saw how he performed against us in the final and that made us even more eager to sign him.”

Hyde fans will also be buoyed by the news that Harry Ditchfield, Matty Fearnley and Drew Baker will all be sticking around for the 2025/26 campaign.
