Phil scoops Winter League trophy

Stamford Golf Club has announced Phil Easter as its Winter League Champion for the 2019/20 season.

The event begins in November every season and consists of approximately 20 weeks depending on conditions.

It includes their well known Yellow Jersey which is worn by the leaders each week. The winner is the player who submits the best eight scores from the qualifying 20 weeks.

With conditions against the players (both ladies & gents), it’s a rather difficult one to win. The event started in 2014/15 with Paul Traynor claiming the opening two years as the club's only back-to-back winner. Paul was followed in 2016/17 by David Burns, 2017/18 by Dave Allman, 2018/19 by Dave Rawlinson and our latest Winter League victor, which sponsored by Deli Felice of Stalybridge, is Phil.

Phil will receive the trophy presented by the club's second sponsor Eric Nield of Electrica Ltd when lock down is lifted. He also receives his name engraved on the champions board in the Professionals Shop.
