Partridge steps down

Hyde Cricket Club have announced Tom Partridge has stepped down from his role as first team captain.

Partridge entered his second spell as skipper at the start of the 2025 season, leading the club to a third-place finish and to the semi-finals of the Cheshire Cup.

Following his departure, club secretary John Buckley commented:

“I'd like to extend the club's gratitude to Tom and wish him our sincerest best wishes with the rest of his career.”

Hyde have already lined up Partridge’s replacement, with Andrew Jackson set to step up as captain ahead of the 2026 campaign.

Following the appointment, Buckley commented:

“Jacko has been with us for a number of years and has always performed to an exceptionally high level, establishing himself as one of the best and most exciting cricketers in Cheshire.

“An opening bowler of the highest calibre, he is also a devastating middle order batsman; on his day one of the finest and most dangerous around.

“He takes over the reins from Tom Partridge and will hope to take the team onto even higher levels of achievement.”
