In a shock turn of events, newly appointed Glossop North End manager Ashley Connor has stepped down from his position just days after his arrival at Surrey Street.
The former Golcar United boss has left the club just six days after coming through the door, with ‘unexpected circumstances’ leading to his departure.
Connor took charge of The Hillmen for the first time on Tuesday, in a 5-0 Derbyshire Senior Cup win at Shirebrook Town.
In a statement on Friday evening, the club confirmed:
“It is with surprise that Glossop North End announce newly appointed manager Ashley Connor has stepped down from his role with immediate effect due to unexpected circumstances.
“Coach Colin Morrison will take charge for Saturday’s game at Stockport Town.
“Further updates will follow in this very fluid and fast-moving situation.”
