Curzon Ashton’s summer transfer business is well underway, with the club confirming a trio of signings ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Firstly, talented midfielder Joe Nolan has made the move to the Tameside Stadium following his departure from National League North side Chorley.
During his four-year stay with The Magpies, the 24-year-old racked up over 100 appearances, and was a key figure in the club achieving back-to-back play-off finishes across 23/24 and 24/25.
Nolan is no stranger to Curzon either, having spent time on loan with the club during the 2021/22 season.
”I’m buzzing to be back,” said the former Blackburn Rovers youth player following his return.
“It was a bit of a no brainer really after I spoke to Adam [Barton] and he set the plans out and where the club want to go, so yeah, I’m really happy.”
Nash boss Adam Barton added:
“I feel Joe is coming back to us a stronger player and I want people in this building who want to kick start and move forward in their career, and I feel like he is ready to go forward.”
Elsewhere, Barton’s side have strengthened between the sticks with the arrival of goalkeeper Aidan Dowling.
Also a product of the Rovers academy, Dowling likewise joins The Nash on a one-year-deal, following his departure from NPL Premier side Bamber Bridge.
“I’m a local lad, I’ve known the club my whole life, and played on the pitch when I was younger,” revealed the shotstopper.
“It’s really nice to be here, and I’m really excited for the season - we’ve got big ambitions.”
Barton added:
“We did a lot of homework on him, we did a lot of homework on a lot of other players, and he ticked every box for us.
“I feel he’s at the point in his career where he can now kick on to the next step and I think we will be the perfect club for him to do that.”
Finally, midfielder Harvey Roberts becomes the club’s third signing of the off-season.
The youngster makes the step up from the North West Counties Premier Division, having spent the past two seasons with West Didsbury & Chorlton, where he made 65 appearances.
The Nash are preparing for their first season in the NPL Premier division in over 10 years, following their relegation from the National League North last time out.
