Mossley sign Chester keeper on loan

Mossley AFC have signed goalkeeper Theo Roberts on an initial one-month loan deal from National League North side Chester FC.

The 21-year-old stopper, who came through the youth ranks at Wigan Athletic, spent last term at Buxton FC - where he impressed and performed a clean sweep in their end-of-season awards.

Roberts, who played for Wigan's first team in an EFL Trophy game against Accrington Stanley in November 2017, has also represented AFC Fylde and Atherton Collieries.

The youngster - who has been at Chester since July 2018 - could make his debut for the Lilywhites when they host Abbey Hey at Seel Park tonight (Tuesday) in the Manchester Premier Cup.

Dylan Forth and Josh Ollerenshaw have played in goal for Mossley so far this season.
