This year's Mossley 10k has been cancelled due to the ongoing nature of the coronavirus outbreak.
A statement on Facebook said:
As we continue with the lockdown amid the Covid19 pandemic, the decision has been made to cancel this year’s Mossley 10k run.
It is unclear at this moment in time, whether the UK will be back to normality in July and even beyond, although we truly hope this will happen.
However, as an organisation, committed to health & wellbeing, we do not feel that it would be appropriate to continue promoting and organising the event, with so much else to consider for our runners, volunteers and indeed the emergency services
The race has been organised for the past 7 years, for the main purpose of providing a fun event for the town, promoting health, fitness and mental wellbeing for all. The secondary purpose has always been to raise much needed funds for our local football club.
With this in mind, we feel that the only appropriate course of action is to postpone until next year.
For runners who have already purchased race entries, these entries will automatically be moved to next year’s race.
