More success for Tameside gymnasts

Tameside School of Gymnastics Community Interest Company (TSOG) is celebrating another brilliant competition weekend following more success at the North West Development Grades, held on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th February in Wigan.

Members of TSOG’s advanced squads performed excellently across the weekend, displaying beautiful routines alongside impressive motivation and determination.

The grades competitions occur annually, examining all key areas of the sport.

Gymnasts are required to perform on the usual four apparatus - floor, vault, bars and beam – as well as performing a range & conditioning routine, which combines a sequence of strength, flexibility, and control elements.

All gymnasts made the club unbelievably proud, showcasing their hard work and commitment to the sport.

On Saturday, four of the club’s young gymnasts competed in Development Grade 1.

Savannah Waters delivered a standout performance, taking the 1st-place title to become Greater Manchester champion.

She also finished an impressive 2nd on bars, 3rd on floor, and 2nd on range and conditioning in Greater Manchester - results that placed her 3rd on bars and 4th all-around in the whole of the North West.

Niamh McMahon secured a top-three all-around finish in Greater Manchester, earning the bronze medal. She also took the top spot on beam in Greater Manchester and 3rd in the North West.

Nina Elebute narrowly missed a podium finish all around, but achieved the top score on floor in Greater Manchester, placing 3rd in the North West.

Lucianna Winston also passed Development Grade 1 with flying colours, placing 13th all-around in her first ever grading competition.

The success continued into Sunday with TSOG gymnasts competing in Development Grades 2 and 3, showcasing more fantastic work.

Aleisha Walsh claimed all-around bronze in Development Grade 3, alongside the Greater Manchester beam title and 2nd place on vault in the North West.

Many of the girls earned impressive top-three apparatus finishes, highlighting their strong execution and determination.

In Development Grade 3, Hannah Tunstall took the Greater Manchester bars title and placed 3rd in the North West.

Meanwhile, Lexi Sanders secured 2nd on floor in Greater Manchester, and Mollie Jones’s powerful vaulting earned her a 3rd-place finish.

The weekend’s results reflect the incredible effort shown by every gymnast at TSOG, setting the club up for an exciting and successful year ahead.
