Mike Makes The Move To Curzon Ashton

Stalybridge Celtic have confirmed that Foundations Community Development Officer, Mike Smith is leaving his position to take up a similar role at Curzon Ashton.

Mike will be taking over from Andy Cheshire, who left the role after four years to pursue a new challenge in Scotland. (We spoke to him in December before his departure).

Mike, who previously worked at Stockport County in a similar role during the Hatters' glory years in the Championship, had been Celtic's community development officer since 2014 and leaves a great legacy at Bower Fold, having launched school football sessions at local Primary Schools, Walking Football teams for the over 50’s/over 60’s and Adult-Pan Disability football teams.

Mike also led projects such as the monthly Man v Fat programme which provides men with the opportunity to address their general health.
