After putting their first three points on the board with Saturday’s 2-1 win at Lancaster City, Hyde United made it two from two in midweek.
The Tigers saw off basement club FC United of Manchester on Tuesday night, as Taylor McMahon’s stoppage-time strike was the difference at Ewen Fields.
With time ticking away in a match of few chances, McMahon was on hand to provide the decisive moment, as his drilled cross was turned into his own net by visiting goalkeeper – and ex-Tiger – Dan Atherton.
In the NPL West, Stalybridge Celtic got back to winning ways, defeating visitors Congleton Town by the same scoreline.
Kyle Brownhill’s first half strike saw Jon Macken’s side land their first home win of the campaign, following Saturday’s stalemate with Hanley.
Ashton United also turned around their fortunes after Saturday’s defeat at Bamber Bridge with a 2-0 win over Whitby at Hurst Cross.
A first half double from James Hardy proved to be the Seasiders’ undoing, as The Robins moved up to 4th in the NPL Premier table.
Their Ashton counterparts, Curzon Ashton, were agonisingly close to following suit, only for visitors Bamber Bridge to snatch a point late on.
The clash finished 2-2 at the Tameside Stadium, after a 91st minute equaliser from Archie Lang.
Elsewhere, Droylsden welcomed fans back into the Butchers Arms at long last, as The Bloods faithful observed a 1-1 draw with FC Isle of Man.
Nellson Van opened the scoring on 12 minutes, but the Ravens hit back, with Charlie Higgins calmly slotting home from 12 yards to level the scoring just after the interval.
Meanwhile, after starting their league campaign with an emphatic 4-2 win at Atherton Collieries, Mossley were unable to repeat the feat at Vauxhall Motors.
Despite Kyle Campbell drawing The Lilywhites level, a last-minute winner from Michael Burkey saw the 10-man hosts take all three points.
Finally, it was another evening to forget for Glossop North End, who suffered their third 2-0 defeat on the bounce at Prestwich Heys.
The Hillmen were unable to right the wrongs of Saturday’s disappointing FA Vase exit, and slipped down to 11th in the NWCFL Premier table.
