Magic in the air at TSOG’s Club Championships

TSOG Gymnastics Club was transformed into Hogwarts this weekend as gymnasts, coaches, families and volunteers came together for the club’s annual Championships – a highlight of the year and an important fundraiser for the not-for-profit Community Interest Company.

The club’s members embraced the theme with enthusiasm, designing their own Harry Potter–inspired name boards to display during their rotations.

In addition to medals for their gymnastics routines, ribbons were awarded for the most creative and imaginative boards, adding an extra touch of fun to the day.

But beyond the magic and medals, the Championships are a celebration of the club itself.

Unlike traditional competitions where only a handful of gymnasts walk away with awards, TSOG’s format ensures every gymnast is recognised for their hard work and commitment.

Medals are presented for each routine, and athletes also compete within their training groups for the chance to be crowned apparatus champions.

The atmosphere is one of support, pride and community spirit - a reflection of the club’s values.

As a CIC, TSOG relies heavily on fundraising to purchase new equipment and to support the ongoing training of its coaches and officials.

Events like this are only possible thanks to an extraordinary team effort behind the scenes.

Coaches, parents, gymnasts and volunteers all contribute their time, whether it’s setting up decorations late into the evening, running stalls on the day, or staying behind to pack everything away once the final photo has been taken.

A parent-led fundraising team also worked tirelessly throughout the weekend, running the tuck shop, organising raffles and managing tombolas.

Their contribution, along with the enthusiasm of every gymnast who stepped onto the floor, helped make this year’s Championships one of the most memorable yet.

With its mix of friendly competition, fundraising purpose and a touch of wizarding wonder, the event showcased exactly what makes TSOG so special: a community united by a shared passion for gymnastics and a commitment to giving young people a place to grow, shine and succeed.
