Stalybridge Celtic have been handed a huge boost ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 campaign, with manager Jon Macken committing his future to the club.
Macken and his management team will remain in the dugout until the end of next season, as they look to bounce back from play-off heartbreak last time out.
The 48-year-old came agonisingly close to earning promotion in his first full season with the club, finishing third in the NPL West before suffering defeat in last month’s play-off final at Avro.
This represented solid progress, with the former Manchester City forward building on a sixth placed finish in 2024/25, following his takeover in October 2024.
Following the announcement, Macken told the club:
“I really am delighted that me and my staff have extended our stay with the club for the new season.
“We’ve had a really positive year and improved so much on and off the pitch since we first arrived, and although we just fell short this year, we’re determined to continue improving and take the next step next season.
“A huge thank you to the owners, committee, our players and staff for your hard work this season and a massive thanks to the supporters for your magnificent backing.
“Let’s rest up and get ready to go again in the summer.”
