Local futsal club become national champions

Sala Futsal Club u16s girls were crowned England Futsal National Plate Champions last month after beating Hutton FC from Somerset in the final at The University of Derby.

The thrilling game, which took place on June 7, saw Sala take a 2-0 lead early on, but they were pegged back to 2-1 at the end of the first half .

Sala then started bright in the second half and quickly went 5-1 up.

They then extended their lead to win 9-2 after a convincing display

Sala Futsal Head Coach Neil Lucas commented: “After a slow and nervy first half, the girls got back on track and dominated the second half with some superb passing and movement, with a well deserved win.”

“It’s a real blessing to win a national final,” he added.

Sala Futsal deliver futsal coaching sessions in Tameside and Manchester for both boys and girls aged 6 to 16 with opportunities to represent Sala in leagues and tournaments from u10s upwards.

The 2025 final was the fourth year running that Sala had managed to have a youth team in the final.
