LISTEN: Hadfield have high hopes of achieving promotion

Excitement is building ahead of the 2022 cricket season, with the opening round of Greater Manchester fixtures taking place on Saturday 23 April.

Formed in 2015, the GMCL has grown from strength-to-strength and now boasts a long list of member clubs in Tameside, Glossop and the surrounding areas.

Having previously played in the Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League, Hadfield St Andrews made the switch to the GMCL in time for the 2020 season and have so far enjoyed their experience, despite having to contend with covid-related regulations and issues.

The first team, captained by Cameron Ball, just missed out on promotion in Division One last season and are confident of going one step further this year.

We spoke to club secretary, Richard Tranter, to get the latest developments ahead of the new season, the importance of a junior pathway into the senior setup, celebrating the club's centenary next season, and much more.
