Koral is a Celt

Stalybridge Celtic have secured the signing of Witton Albion captain Mike Koral.

After making 127 appearances for Albion over the past three seasons, the experienced full-back will once again link up with former boss Jon Macken.

Following his signing, the 32-year-old told the club: “Stalybridge Celtic is a huge club, and I’m thrilled to have signed.

“It’s a great opportunity to work with Jon again, and I’m really looking forward to the season ahead.

“Hopefully, we can make it a successful one for everyone involved.”

Macken added: “Mike is someone we know really well so I’m really excited to have him join us at Celtic.

“He’s a top player and a brilliant person to have in our team.

“He’s got lots of experience and will really add to our defensive personnel.

“He’s a great leader and someone I think the fans will really take to.”

Elsewhere, Celtic have also secured the signature of young forward Dylan Scott.

The 19-year-old joins as a free agent after his departure from League One side Burton Albion, with whom he spent six years, featuring for the first team on three occasions.

Scott also has NPL experience, having had loan spells at Hanley Town, Mickleover and most recently, Leek Town.

Following his move to Bower Fold, the Staffordshire born striker told the club: “I am buzzing to be joining such a massive club after some conversations with both Jon Macken and Brandon [Newell].

“It’s clear to see how highly Brandon talks about the club and the fans so it was a no brainer- I can’t wait to get going in pre-season.”

Jon Macken added: “Dylan is a really talented young striker with a lot of potential.

“We think he fits how we want to play really well and importantly, he’s a good lad and will fit our squad nicely.

“He’s had a taste of senior football already and showed what he can do at Hanley, so we’re excited to have him at the club and to watch him develop with us.”
