Hyde Travel To Warrington

Hyde face a tough trip this weekend as they travel to promotion-chasing Warrington Town as they look for their first win in nine games. 

Both teams are coming into the game after being knocked out of the FA Trophy in disappointing circumstances. Hyde travelled to Buxton over the weekend as they lost 3-2 thanks to a 94th-minute winner which was also the last kick of the game. Warrington were dealt their blow by Ashton United who won 1-0 courtesy of a screamer from Sam Sheridan. 

Hyde started the season well and were in the promotion places in the early stages thanks to a good run of form. But their last win came on the 10th September as they beat Nantwich Town 2-0 at Ewan Fields. Since then it’s been a run of 8 games without a win in all competitions for Hyde with some humbling wins in that run also. On the back of that form, Hyde have dropped to 12th which is comfortable for them but many thought Hyde would be promotion contenders this season which they still can achieve but they need to start gaining points. 

Warrington have struggled against Tameside teams so far this season at home as they have lost to both Stalybridge and Ashton United so far. Other than playing Tameside teams Warrington have made a good start to the season and find themselves in fourth place with a game in hand on South Shields who are in first place. Warrington’s home form will give Hyde some encouragement as they have only won twice at home all season in the league and have lost three times. 

Hyde will also have a new signing available for the game after they announced the loan signing of Alex Starcenko from Guiseley.
