Hyde progress to cup semi-final

Hyde United have progressed to the Cheshire Cup semi-final after beating Vauxhall Motors 3-1 on penalties.

The Tigers took the lead twice in the fixture but were pegged back by Motors, who are currently three divisions below them.

Liam Tongue put Hyde aheads in the 25th minute before Ryan Cox levelled matters on the stroke of half-time. A Matthew Carlin own goal int he 58th minute reasserted the Tigers lead, but Michael Burkley found the back of the net in the 78th minute to take the tie to penalties, which Hyde subsequently won 3-1.

Dave McGurk's side will travel to the winner of Chester or Tranmere Rovers in the semi-final.
