Hyde manager bolsters squad for season run-in

Hyde United manager Nick Spooner has wasted no time in bolstering his squad in a bid to avoid the drop.

Defender Javid Swaby-Neavin has joined us on a month's loan from National League side FC Halifax Town. The 20-year-old started his career  at Oldham Athletic, where he had loan spells at Ashton United and Radcliffe. He joined FC Halifax in August, initially on a short term deal but has  since had that extended and has been on the bench numerous times for the Shayman this season.

Midfielder Sam Peplow has also joined the Tigers on a one month loan deal from Championship side Huddersfield Town.  Sam joined Huddersfield  Town from Manchester United ahead of the 2018/19 season. The youngster, who was born in Leigh, has been a regular for Town’s Under-17s since joining and signed a new deal in the summer.

The final signing is centre forward Eddie Brown from North West Counties Division One South side Wythenshawe Amateurs.  Brown came through the ranks at Bolton Wanderers under the guidance of Nick and Gavin.  Brown made 10 appearances for the Wanderers first team before his season was cut short by a torn hamstring. He was released the following summer and went on to have a brief spell at FC United of Manchester after returning from injury, before joining Wythenshawe where he has scored 17 goals in 28 appearances this season  to help them to fourth in the table.
