Hyde ease to victory

BetVictor Premier Division: Hyde United 3-0 Grantham Town

Hyde secured only their second home win in the last 10 attempts, getting back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Grantham Town.

The hosts dominated the first half with an array of chances, the majority being created by new loan signing Iliman Ndiaye on loan from Sheffield United, who never gave the Grantham defence a minutes rest.

The opener came when Sutherland flicked on for Pratt on the halfway line, who ran all the way into the box and placed into the bottom corner.

The Tigers had to wait until the second half to double their lead. After Hughes missed a couple of big opportunities at the other end, Grantham were made to pay at the back when they failed to clear their lines. Roscoe picked up the ball on the right of the area and squared to Tongue who placed past Worsnop.

After an exciting display, Ndiaye was replaced by Sharp and within a minute of coming on he got himself onto the scoresheet, slotting into goal from a weighted Starcenko pass.

Grantham made all three changes late on so they couldn’t have the desired impact. The win leaves the Tigers in the upper mid table region, and the visitors, with results not going their way, remain in the relegation battle.
