Hyde bolster squad with new defender

Hyde United have announced the signing of Callum Spooner from Bamber Bridge.

Callum, a versatile full back, joined Brig from Evo-Stik North side Atherton Collieries in October 2018. Commenting on Callum's departure, a club official said: ''Callum has been a brilliant servant of the club over the past three years and has developed into an assured defender and he stepped up well to the role of vice captain. It is disappointing he has taken the decision to move on. We all wish him well for the future.” Callum, who is the son of manager Nick Spooner, has previously played for Stalybridge Celtic and Bolton Wanderers. The Tigers have also extended the loan contract of Lewis Earl, from Stockport County, until the end of the season.
