Stalybridge Celtic have re-signed goalkeeper Grant Shenton ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The 30-year-old joins the club for a third spell, having left Buxton. He initially joined Celtic in 2016 from Ashton United, linking up with former managers Paul Phillips and Steve Halford, making 30 appearances during the season.
He re-joined the club last season, although he made just one appearance due to the season being postponed and subsequently null and voided due to Covid-19.
Elsewhere, Luke Barlow, a defender, has committed his future to the club after making eight appearances last season. The 21-year-old initially joined the club in August 2020 from Kilmarnock.
A goal in the first five minutes and another one six minutes from time were enough to see Ashton safely into the second qualifying round of this year's FA Cup and a home tie against Scarborough.
After squandering a two-goal lead at home to Prescot Cables on Saturday, Hyde United spared their FA Cup blushes with a 1-0 win in Tuesday’s First Qualifying Round replay.
