Glossopdale School becomes a hive of activity amid lockdown easing

Sports Clubs, groups and organisations could finally return indoors on Monday as part of the easing to lockdown restrictions.

It was a much welcomed piece of news and a massive boost to those involved, especially given the recent awful weather.

Glossopdale School has been a hive of activity since restrictions were eased, with the facility home to local organisations The Fitness Station, Glossopdale Basketball, Glossop Table Tennis, North West Kickboxing, Tintwistle Athletic FC, Glossop Juniors FC, Take Part, and Stardust Dance.

The venue also hosts tai chi classes, junior Spanish classes, dark peak music rehearsals and a host of other bookings.

Speaking to Chronicle Sport, Leanne Pace, community development manager, said it has been great to see the venue back to full use after a considerable period of inactivity indoors. "Having been deprived of indoor activity for so long, to see the venue being booked by our local clubs is a massive boost and bodes well for the future. It's great to see people from a number of clubs, across the entire age spectrum, taking advantage of what we can offer."
