Glossop North End part company with Stuart Mellish

Glossop North End has announced the club have parted ways with manager Stuart Mellish.

This follows a disappointing season in which Glossop North End were relegated from the Northern Premier League West Division, after losing their inter-step play-off against Ashington AFC.

Mellish spent two full seasons at the club, after joining back in 2021, and the club would like to thank him for his services.

The club released a statement following the decision, as follows:

“Stuart joined the club in the May of 2021 following the departure of Pete Band to Macclesfield FC. His experience in previously winning the NPL at step 4 was instrumental in keeping GNE in the Northern Premier League in his first season in charge. Sadly, through various circumstances & events, and after a difficult second season, GNE fell into the trap door of the FA inter-step play-off, despite winning more games than the year before, and in any other season, it would’ve been enough to stay in the league”.

“Stuart has had to deal with many challenges and has given his all to the club during his spell as manager. Everybody at the club would like to thank him for his services and efforts during an extremely difficult time. We hope that supporters will continue to back the players and staff during what is a very difficult period for the Club”.

Following this announcement, the club have also announced that first team coach, Ollie Wright, has left the club. They released a statement, as follows:

“Glossop North End can report that first team coach, Ollie Wright, has left the club to explore opportunities elsewhere. We thank Ollie for his services and expertise in his three years at the club, and wish him the best for the future”.
