Glossop girls secure vital sponsorship

Local children’s residential care and education provider Arnfield Care Limited has signed a four-figure sponsorship deal with Glossop North End Community Football Club, covering the costs of match kits and training gear for the Girls’ Under 12s team for at least the next two years.

The deal provides the Club with much needed funds and gives the promising group of players a welcome morale boost as they’ll now be turning out in the Cheshire Girl’s Football League in state-of-the-art blue and white Nike football kits featuring the Arnfield Care logo.

Together with pitchside advertising at the team’s home ground, the almost 30-year-old Glossop-based care organisation hopes the shirt sponsorship will help raise awareness of its vital work with children and reinforce its position as one of the High Peak’s largest employers.

The partnership reflects both parties’ strong and long-standing commitment to the local community and to promoting opportunities for young people.

Arnfield Care provides specialist support and residential care for young people, as well as classroom and outdoor learning, by focusing on creating safe, inclusive, nurturing environments that promote independence, learning, and physical, mental and emotional wellbeing: conditions that make a genuine difference to the lives of young people and a set of guiding principles similar to those behind the creation of the Glossop club.

On behalf of the directors of Arnfield Care Ltd, Paul Knowles, Elaine French and Wayne Relf, Elaine, who is also the head of care, said:

“I first came across Glossop North End Community Club through a family connection and it just so happened that, as a board, we were looking for some kind of community initiative to invest in. There’s been huge growth in the girl’s game thanks to our fabulous Lionesses and watching the under 12s; seeing what a dedicated and talented group of young players they are, it became clear that there are very strong synergies between our two organisations. The girls play with such passion, teamwork, and commitment, values we share as a care organisation. They love what they do, as does our team. And I can tell you from experience, nobody should underestimate the boost to self-confidence that looking the part gives any young person.”

Ben Mills, chairman of the Glossop North End Community Football Club, commented:

“We’re so grateful to Arnfield Care for their support. We’re constantly relying on the generosity of sponsors to keep things going and so to have brand new training and matchday kits for at least the next two years, is fantastic. We strive to develop all our teams to be the best they can be and Arnfield’s generosity means our Under 12 Girls will really look their best as they represent their hometown around the Cheshire league. It’s also terrific to carry the name of a local business that shares our views on inclusivity, equality and safeguarding. It really is the perfect partnership.”

The sponsorship deal, part of a potentially longer-term partnership, is set to run for a minimum of two years.

It sees Arnfield Care join the ranks of corporate donors such as PHP Insurance, McDonalds, Tesco and The Football Foundation, as well as a host of other significant local partners, including High Peak Borough Council.
