Glossop, Droylsden and Mossley All In Action This Weekend

Glossop North End, Mossley AFC and Droylsden are all in league action this weekend as they all look to secure vital wins for different reasons.

Glossop North End vs Spalding United

Glossop come into the game desperately needing a win after only registering one win from their opening nine games as they currently sit in 19th place just above the bottom of the table Market Drayton Town. Glossop’s last fixture was a 3-1 loss away at Cleethorpes Town and Glossop will be hoping that they can capitalise on their home advantage.

Their Opponents Spalding have got promotion ambitions this season and they sit in 9th place after a good start to the season. A win could take them as high as fourth so they will see Glossop as a big chance to make their move up the table. Spalding also have an extra incentive to get the win as they have been on a poor run of results lately and have failed to register a win in their last five games. Both teams need a win in this one with Glossop wanting to get it with their first win of the season.

Kendal Town vs Droylsden

Droylsden had a brilliant start to the season as they reached the dizzying heights of fourth place but after two heavy defeats, they find themselves back in 10th place. Last time out it was a heavy 6-0 loss for the Bloods away at Marske United a result which surely was surely felt by manager Dave Pace and the players. It also means Droylsden have conceded ten goals in their last two games.

Droylsden may feel it is the perfect time to face Kendal Town as the club have only won once all season and are firmly in a relegation battle. Kendal have conceded 31 goals in just 10 games so far this season and have only scored 9 in return. Their last outing was a 4-0 loss away at Runcorn Linnets but interestingly their only win came in the game before against league leader Workington with a 3-1 scoreline.

Marine vs Mossley

Mossley will be looking to further cement their promotion charge as they travel to fellow promotion rivals Marine in Merseyside. Mossley have had a good start to the season but the feeling is that a consistent run is now needed in order to push up the table. Mossley had a disappointing draw in their last game as they lost a 2-0 lead at home to Widnes and missed a penalty in the final minutes of the game.

Marine will be a big test for Mossley as they sit two places behind Mossley and only a point separates the two. However Marine have two games in hand over Mossley due to the Merseyside clubs involvement in the FA Cup so it’s vital Mossley pick up a result. Their last match was a 1-0 win away at Brighouse Town in a match that will fill the squad with confidence.
