Glossop Blues make generous donation

Glossop Manchester City Supporters Club have made a generous donation to a fantastic local cause.

As part of their annual charitable donation, the club have gifted £500 to Willow Wood Hospice.

Following a club meeting last month – which coincided with Manchester City’s Champions League tie with Villareal – a cheque was presented to Tara Farren, Community and Events Fundraiser at Willow Wood, by supporters club chairman Jimmy Saunders, and treasurer Tom Gaskin.

Following the donation, Tara commented:

“We’re so grateful to the club for their generosity. It was a pleasure to come along to their meeting to tell them more about how their support really helps to provide vital care to patients from their community.”

A spokesperson for the supporters club added:

“Each season, Glossop OSC holds a poll to decide which charity will receive our annual donation.

“This year, we’re proud to announce that the majority of our members chose Willow Wood Hospice as the recipient.

“We’re honoured to support such a vital local cause and hope to continue this tradition for many years to come.

“Glossop OSC is based at Glossop Cricket Club and always welcomes new members.

“If you’re interested in joining, come along to our next meeting on Wednesday 10th December at 7pm.

“After the meeting, we’ll be screening the Champions League match against Real Madrid live at 8pm.”
