GAME OFF: Ashton United's pre-season fixture cancelled due to Covid issue

Ashton United's pre-season fixture against Altrincham, scheduled to take place this evening, has been postponed due to an external Covid-19 contact tracing issue being highlighted.

A statement on the club's website read: "As a precautionary measure, all staff and players at Ashton United will undergo virus tests, the results of which may not be known for 24hrs or more. Saturday’s FA Cup fixture is not expected to be affected.

"The club will not comment further."
