Friday night football for Avro

It’s Friday night football tonight in the North West Counties Premier Division as Avro host Skelmersdale United at the Vestacare Stadium.

A big test for Avro tonight as they look to turn their form around after a run of one win from their last six games in all competitions.

Avro’s poor run got worse in their last game as they crashed out of the Macron Cup after being humiliated by lower league opposition Vauxhall Motors FC in a 6-0 thrashing at home.

The fact that Avro were playing in a division higher than their opponents didn’t seem to faze Vauxhall as they dominated the game from start to finish with Avro rarely having a sniff at a chance.

The Oldham based club will be looking to make amends tonight however as they look to start a climb up the league table.

It may the perfect game for Avro to turn things around as their opponents Skelmersdale have endured their own patch of poor form with no wins from their last five games in a run that also only includes one draw. The away side have also been lacklustre in front of goal during that run after only netting once in their last five games.

Their last result was a crushing 4-0 defeat away at Charnock Richard and whilst Avro will be looking for a win they will have to be wary as Skelmersdale will also be viewing this fixture as winnable.
