Former Hyde Winger Lands Northern Ireland Call-Up

Former Hyde United player Paddy Lane has been called-up to represent the Northern Ireland squad to face Luxembourg and Hungary in forthcoming friendlies.

Lane, a winger, made an impact during his spell with the Tigers, where he progressed through the Academy and was eventually rewarded with a professional contract with League One outfit Fleetwood Town.

He has since proved his worth in the Football League, making 27 appearances for the Cod Army and scoring five goals in the process.

Lane has also featured for the Northern Ireland Under 21 squad and made six appearances, scoring on his debut.

But now, the 21-year-old will be hoping to impress with the senior squad away to Luxembourg on 25 March and host Hungary at Windsor Park on 29 January.
