Our local sides have completed another league fixture this afternoon.

In the Northern Premier League Premier Division, Ashton United's game against Bamber Bridge was postponed due to a Covid-related issue.

After last week's 2-0 defeat at Gainsborough Trinity, Hyde United picked up their first point in a goalless stalemate against South Shields at Ewen Fields. 587 attended the fixture.

Meanwhile, following a great pre-season, FA Cup progression, and a 1-1 draw on the opening day against Lancaster City last weekend, Stalybridge Celtic had a day to forget, losing 3-0 at Nantwich Town.

In the NPL North West, David Fish's Mossley side continued their fine form with a 4-1 victory over Pickering Town at Seel Park. 400 attended the game.

And in the NPL South East, Glossop North End came from behind to beat Cleethorpes Town 2-1 at Surrey Street.

Curzon Ashton hosted FC Halifax Town in a pre-season friendly and drew 0-0.
