Fixtures released for Tameside's NPL teams

The wait is over for our four Northern Premier League clubs, with the fixtures for the new season being released last night.

In the Premier Division, Ashton United host Nolberto Solano’s newly relegated Blyth Spartans on the August 10 opening day.

The Robins will look to build on a run that saw them lose just twice in a 22-game spell in the second half of last term, propelling them to a creditable seventh place in the final table.

Other notable fixtures include a home game against FC United on New Year’s Day, a visit from Robbie Savage’s Macclesfield on December 7, and matches against neighbours Hyde United on November 2 and February 22.

Meanwhile, the Tigers also begin their campaign at home, taking on Mickleover as they aim to improve on the pair of sixth place finishes they’ve had in the past two seasons.

Nick Spooner’s side travel to Macclesfield on August bank holiday Monday, with the Silkmen heading to Ewen Fields on New Year’s Day.

Hyde wrap up their fixtures with a trip to 2018 FA Vase winners Stockton Town.

Mossley start their latest West Division campaign on the road with a game against Newcastle Town, with their first home match coming on Tuesday August 13 versus Clitheroe.

They head to Stalybridge Celtic on Boxing Day, with the reverse fixture at Seel Park on Easter bank holiday Monday – the penultimate game of the season.

James Kinsey’s new look Stalybridge kick-off against two relegated clubs. Stafford Rangers come to Bower Fold on the opening day, while Celtic make the short journey to Atherton Collieries the following Tuesday night.

They end their campaign at home against City of Liverpool, who ended last year in the final play-off place.
