Excitement builds ahead of Pride of Tameside Sports Awards

Excitement is building ahead of the Pride of Tameside Sports Awards on Friday.

The event is held every year to celebrate sporting achievement across the borough on an individual and club basis.

There will be nine award categories on the evening as listed below:

  • Changing Lifestyle Award
  • Club of the Year
  • Young Sports Achiever of the Year
  • Unsung Hero
  • Alex Williams Volunteer of the Year
  • School Commitment to PE and Sport Award
  • Disabled Physical Activity Champion (Local Award)
  • Workforce Advocate Award
  • Community Initiative Award

Attendees will be treated to a three course meal and drinks throughout the evening, followed by an inspirational talk from Natalia Cohen. Natalia’s vision is to empower others to reach their potential and overcome life’s challenges. She was part of the first all-female team to row unsupported across the Pacific Ocean. With no rowing experience prior to applying, Natalia showed how, with a positive mindset, a determined and aligned team, and a sense of humour, you can cross your own personal Pacific.
