DJ Pedro extends his stay at Stalybridge Celtic

Bower Fold, Stalybridge Celtic

Stalybridge Celtic have reached an agreement with Salford City to extend Djavan ‘DJ’ Pedro’s loan spell at the club.

The forward joined in January 2023, initially on a month-long loan, which was due to end at the end of February. His stay has now been extended until 18 March.

Pedro has made seven appearances so far for the club, impressing on a number of occasions, none more so than on his debut, where he scored in a 4-0 win over Nantwich Town. He has also provided two assists for his teammates during his time at the club, with both of these coming in a 2-0 win over Gainsborough Trinity.

Celtic will be delighted with the news, which should provide the team with an added boost, ahead of a crucial set of fixtures in the league. The 19-year-old gives the Celts some much needed depth in forward areas and his versatility is invaluable as it gives manager Chris Willcox a number of options, with the speedster able to play in any of the front three positions.

DJ could be back in action as early as tonight, with Celtic hosting Matlock Town in a game that kicks off at 7:45.
