Denton Park Social Bowling Club provide update

Denton Park Social Bowling Club like many others in Tameside have felt the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Following on with Public Health England guidelines to self isolate immediately, affecting over 80% of our members, we must isolate the risk of infection as saddened as the whole bowling fraternity in Tameside and UK is.

The consequences have been catastrophic to the clubs' summer program intended to start on Sunday 5th April with Albert Scholes Mixed Open Invitation Memorial Trophy.

The Tameside and Longdendale League matches for the club's five-teams, combined of Mens Veterans, Men's Friday teams and  Ladies  Wednesday League and Saturday's Mixed Bowling Squad have also been postponed.

After a long winter, this comes as a devastating blow not only to club members but also to our 2020 Social Engagement Program, which engages with our local community groups and vulnerable individuals.

The Club motto "Bowling for A Healthier Life" has never been more relevant in today's Coronavirus climate leaving the club in a state of readiness for our return, hopefully by the end of August 2020, when we intend to plan a number of open day invitation mixed bowling competitions.

As Club secretary on behalf of our members I say "We will be Back Bowling". Keep healthy and stay in touch with each other.
