Curzon land teenage duo

Curzon Ashton have made two further additions to their squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, bringing in two talented teens.

Firstly, midfielder Crispin McClean joins on an initial three-month loan from League Two side Fleetwood Town.

The 18-year-old joined The Fishermen in 2023 and was handed his first team debut by fellow Scot Charlie Adam back in October.

McClean has already had a taste of non-League football, having spent a short portion of last season with NPL Premier side Lancaster City.

Following the signing, Curzon head coach Mark Bradshaw commented: “Fleetwood’s policy of wanting young talented prospects to go out and experience first team football is ideal for both Curzon and Crispin.

“His loan spell in the Northern Premier League last season showed the potential in him and we are happy now to help him progress with the challenge of the National League North and we are excited to see him develop further with us.”

Elsewhere, winger Ben Connolly joins from Welsh champions The New Saints.

The 17-year-old began his career at fellow Cymru Premier side Connah’s Quay Nomads before making the switch to TNS back in February.

Speaking on Connolly’s arrival, assistant head coach Jack Salkeld said: “We saw him trialling for the reserves and he caught our eye, we’ve given him the opportunity to join the first team and also given another young player a pathway to the men’s team – we look forward to seeing him progress.”
