Curzon Face Huge Game

Curzon Ashton are back in action after two weeks without a game, they will be hoping they can come back and break their dreadful run of form.

 The Nash host Kettering Town at the Tameside Stadium as they play two weeks after they lost to Blyth Spartans where Levi Amantchi’s second-half strike consigned Curzon Ashton to a sixth league defeat in a row and extended their winless run in all competitions to twelve games.

It’s a run that has seen Curzon go from the top of the table in August to now 19th in the table and only outside of the relegation zone on goal difference. Mark Bradshaw has been handed no favours in recent weeks as injuries and suspensions have ravaged the Curzon squad, remarkably meaning that only two players who started in the opening day 5-0 win over Bradford (Park Avenue) made the starting XI for the loss against Blyth.

This game represents a huge opportunity as Curzon will view this as a must-win fixture. Kettering are bottom of the table and have won just one of their last fourteen games shipping 27 goals this season. The feeling is that is a relegation six-pointer, should Curzon lose to the team at the bottom of the table they will be in the relegation zone and surely Mark Bradshaw would be under huge pressure. 

The Nash will be hoping that striker Sean Miller will be firing on all cylinders as he has four goals this season and his goals will be crucial to their survival chances.
