Curzon complete quintuple

Curzon Ashton Under 13’s Blues are celebrating a clean sweep of trophies, having won all five of the competitions they were involved in across the 2024/25 season.

Their record-breaking season saw them come away with both the North Bury Junior Football League Under 13’s Premiership title (Saturday), and the East Manchester Junior Football League Under 13’s Premier Division title (Sunday).

As well as this, the team also won both league cups and a county cup, completing the quintuple.

Astonishingly, this was the group’s first ever season playing 11 a side, after playing 9 a side the season prior.

Even more impressively, the side managed to win 56 out of the 59 matches they played throughout the campaign, losing only once.

They also had the opportunity to play for their county, representing Greater Manchester at a National tournament in Nottingham late last month, which they unfortunately exited at the quarter-final stage.

“I couldn’t be prouder of this group of young lads,” manager Marcus Francis told the Reporter.

“To win 5 out of 5 competitions is an incredible achievement at any level, but what makes it even more special is the way they’ve done it—with teamwork, dedication, and real joy for the game.

“Every player has contributed, every training session has mattered, and the bond they’ve built on and off the pitch has been the foundation of our success.

“This season has been about more than just trophies—it’s been about growth, belief, and the power of working together.

“As a coach, I’m honoured to be part of their journey.”
