Curzon Ashton Looking To Turn Form Around

Curzon Ashton are back in league action this weekend as they travel to face Gloucester City looking to get their first win in what will be thirteen games.

Mark Bradshaw’s side have been in dismal form since the start of the season where many tipped them for a playoff charge. Since they beat Darlington 3-1 on the 12th August they have failed to win a game in all competitions and have lost eight of their last nine games.

It’s a run that has seen Curzon go from the top of the table in August to now 19th in the table and only outside of the relegation zone on goal difference. Mark Bradshaw has been handed no favours in recent weeks as injuries and suspensions have ravaged the Curzon squad, remarkably meaning that only two players who started in the opening day 5-0 win over Bradford (Park Avenue) made the starting XI for the loss against Blyth.

Curzon currently sit in 19th position in the table and just one point away from Kettering Town who sit at the bottom of the table. With Curzon very much in a relegation battle at the moment, they will need to start picking up some points.

Gloucester have made a good start to life in the National League North as they sit in 12th in the table in a comfortable position. They have beaten some high calibre teams this season, but they are coming into the game on the back of a heavy loss. Gloucester lost 5-1 last weekend away at Spennymoor Town and ended the game with nine men after two of their players were shown red cards. They will be looking for a reaction at the Tameside Stadium, but the Nash will be looking at an opportunity to get a win against a side with two key players suspended.
