Cooke signs on at Church Lane

New Mills have signed up a teenage defender on a dual registration deal from Curzon Ashton.

Millers joint-managers Mike Norton and Dave Birch have added to their squad by bringing in full-back Elliott Cooke, who arrives from the National League North side.

The 18-year-old, who can also play in midfield, progressed through the youth ranks at the Tameside Stadium before breaking through into the senior squad.

He is expected to go straight into the Millers' squad for Saturday's game against Cammell Laird at Church Lane.
