Curzon Ashton got one over on former manager Adam Lakeland on Tuesday (January 24) after an emphatic 4-0 win over King’s Lynn Town down in East Anglia.
The Nash flew out of the blocks, taking the lead after just 25 minutes through Stefan Mols, whose deflected effort found the back of the King’s Lynn net.
This lead was doubled just three minutes later, and goal scorer Mols was involved once again, laying the ball off to the onrushing Adam Barton who fired the ball home to put Curzon two up.
Things would get even sweeter for the visitors after the hour mark, with Jimmy Spencer getting in on the act and adding a third, latching onto a Jordan Richards cross and firing a header past the helpless Paul Jones in the King’s Lynn goal.
After a dominant first-half display, it seemed as though there was only going to be one winner, and the match was put beyond any reasonable doubt when Stefan Mols scored his second of the evening just after the hour mark, with Jimmy Spencer backheeling the ball into the Spaniard's path who calmly slotted the ball home to make it four.
A huge result for Craig Mahon’s side, which extends their unbeaten run to five games and lifts them up to seventh place in the table ahead of their trip to Rushall Olympic at the weekend.
