The Tameside Stadium is set to be a hive of activity this evening as two clubs are going head-to-head in a bid to raise funds for two great charities.
The football fixture, dubbed Clash of the Clubs, will see Curzon Ashton's Junior coaches take on the Manchester Corinthians JFC coaches, raising funds for the Manchester Children’s Hospital and Myron Hospice.
It’s been organised as part of an effort to support two of Curzon’s junior players, Jimmy Gledhill & Tom Jackson, who are being treated on Ward 84 at the Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Kick-off is at 6.30pm, and the bar will be open. Admission has been priced at £5 adults, £1 under 16s, and players of both clubs gain free admission.
A goal in the first five minutes and another one six minutes from time were enough to see Ashton safely into the second qualifying round of this year's FA Cup and a home tie against Scarborough.
After squandering a two-goal lead at home to Prescot Cables on Saturday, Hyde United spared their FA Cup blushes with a 1-0 win in Tuesday’s First Qualifying Round replay.
