Charity match raises £5,000 for Reuben's Retreat

Last Sunday (April 21), a charity match took place at the Asgard Engineering Stadium, the home of Glossop North End.

The event was set up by local company KPJ Group to celebrate their 50th anniversary, with all proceeds from the day being donated to local charity Reuben’s Retreat.

Reuben’s Retreat is a local charity in Glossop which supports families who have suffered child loss, and those with children who are living with medical complexities.

There was a fantastic turnout for the event, with hundreds coming down to show their support.

The two sides, Westwood FC and Lowry FC were made up of local businesspeople in and around Glossop, with Westwood FC picking up a deserved victory on the day.

Just under £5,000 was raised through the event from donations on the gate and from the raffle which took place after the match.

Money was also raised through a JustGiving page set up by KPJ group, which is still taking donations.

To donate, just search ‘KPJ’s Charity Football Match for Reuben’s Retreat’ on the JustGiving website.
