Chapel High cross country team make national finals

Year 8 Junior Boys Cross Country Team.

Chapel-en-le-Frith High School have proven to be a force in the athletic world after qualifying for the English School’s Cross Country Cup Final.

A team of dedicated athletes from Year 8, including the sporting talent of Harison Davie, Will Aspinall, Joel Tidmarsh, Isaac Butterworth, Campbell Johnson, and Alistair Horne, have performed exceptionally well through the Cross Country Cup Rounds.

With the first stage of the competition taking place in October, the boys began their reign by finishing first in Derbyshire.

Heading to the regional finals in November, the team finished in an incredible third place, earning their place in the next stage of the Cup.

To conclude their fantastic achievements, they will head to the national finals, representing the Midlands.

The final, held at The Grammar School at Leeds, Harrogate Road, Leeds, will see the best young athletes across the nation competing to prove they are the best on Saturday (3 December).

The team at Chapel High have worked immensely hard to get to this stage. Showing dedication, motivation and great levels of teamwork to reach a prestigious level.
