Stalybridge Celtic manager Chris Willcock has bolstered his squad with the addition of 24-year-old defender Josh Askew.
Josh, who joins the club from Hyde United originally started his career at Blackburn Rovers, moving to Salford City in 2017.
He remained at Salford for three seasons including a period on loan at Curzon Ashton before joining Boston United in 2020.
He re-joined former Salford Managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley at Chester during the curtailed 2019/20 season where he scored in a 3-0 win over AFC Telford United.
Spells at Clitheroe, Alfreton and FC United have since followed before a move to Hyde earlier this season.
He now joins Chris Willcock’s side for today’s trip to Warrington Town.
A goal in the first five minutes and another one six minutes from time were enough to see Ashton safely into the second qualifying round of this year's FA Cup and a home tie against Scarborough.
After squandering a two-goal lead at home to Prescot Cables on Saturday, Hyde United spared their FA Cup blushes with a 1-0 win in Tuesday’s First Qualifying Round replay.
