Avro return to winning ways

North West Counties Premier Division: Litherland REMYCA 0-2 Avro

Avro returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against bottom club Litherland.

Leon Wright scored his first goal for the club to put the visitors 1-0 ahead in the 40th minute, before last season's top scorer, Joe Bevan added a decisive second just two minutes later.

The result was soured somewhat by the dismissal of Danny Parkinson in the dying stages, who was given his marching orders with two minutes remaining after receiving a second yellow card.

The result leaves James Hampson and Lee O'Brien's side in 12th spot ahead of Saturday's game at sixth place Bootle.
