Ashton Swimming Club crowned champions

For the third year in a row, Ashton-under-Lyne Swimming Club have won the prestigious Celebration Gala, beating teams from Wilmslow, Romiley, Marple, Hyde, Saracens (Hazel Grove), Dukinfield and Saddleworth.

The Gala win comes on the back of the club being Champions of the League for the third year in succession and remaining undefeated all season, having never finished lower than 2nd place since 2016.

This also comes after they secured the Seniors Winners Shield and runners up in the Junior Shield.

Following the achievement, Ashton-under-Lyne Swimming Club Chairman Steve Shilley commented:

“What a brilliant finale to an excellent season, well done to all 79 swimmers who represented the club during the season.

“I am really proud of all the swimmers that swam so well in the gala, and for the club that is still doing an amazing job without a pool in Ashton.”
