Glossop have signed their second player in 24 hours after announcing the signing of versatile midfielder Scott Kay.

It comes after the club signed Porya Ahmadi from Aberystwyth Town earlier this morning.

Originally from Denton, Kay started his footballing career in the youth system at Manchester City and made professional appearances for Macclesfield Town.

He then went on to sign for Huddersfield Town, Southport and Mossley before he made his most prominent move when he signed for FC United Of Manchester for whom he made 103 appearances for.

His latest club was Ashton United during their stint in the National League North but he was released by the club shortly after their relegation from the division.

Kay will add some much-needed experience to The Hillmen as they battle to stay in the Northern Premier South East Division.

Scott Kay will be eligible to make his first appearance in their next game which is against Cleethorpes Town away from home.
