Andy helps England to victory

Tameside athlete Andy Robertson captained the England Athletics team to victory at what has become an important fixture on the Athletics calendar.

This was an opportunity to look at prospects for the England team for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham next Summer, as well as a chance for the other home nations who all compete separately rather than under the banner of G.B.

Andy has represented England and Great Britain on numerous occasions over the last decade, most recently as the European Indoors in Poland back in February. As is common with most sportspeople recent fixtures have been a huge step towards normality after such a long break from normal competition. Fans were allowed back in Sport City to watch elite athletes compete for a trophy.
