Aces Unveil Their New Season Riders

Belle Vue Speedway has unveiled the seven riders who will defend their Premiership title in 2023.

Some of the riders were in attendance at the club’s annual Christmas Cracker.

The Peter Craven Suite was packed out with eager supporters excited to find out who would be representing the world-famous team next season.

Brady Kurtz was the first confirmed signing for the ATPI Aces’ new year plans and has once again been handed the captain’s armband for the new campaign. Soon after, German National champion Norick Blödorn was unveiled alongside Australian and former World Under-21 Champion Jaimon Lidsey, returning to Manchester for the first time since 2019.

Aces’ CEO Mark Lemon then announced that Jake Mulford would graduate from the Belle Vue Colts to a Premiership Rising Star, with Tom Brennan returning amongst the team’s top five riders.

Local man Charles Wright has also booked his return to the National Speedway Stadium in 2023, with the biggest and the most anticipated news being Dan Bewley making his return to UK racing.

The current British Champion re-joins the top flight after a season’s absence and is welcome news, not only for  Belle Vue supporters, but the whole of British Speedway.

On the team that will defend the Premiership crown, Belle Vue boss Mark Lemon said: “There were many options going into the team building process, but that wasn’t exactly a bad thing!

“I’m grateful and very happy to again to secure the services of Brady, Charles, Norick and Tom and bring them back to the National Speedway Stadium for the new season.

“They are certainly fan favourites for sure and have done a superb job in winning us the title this year and they are all very keen to see the Aces retain our title.

“We’re sad to see the likes of Max Fricke, Jye Etheridge and Matej Zagar miss out and we thank them for their commitment and service to the club in ending a 29 year drought between championships.

“But we’re thrilled to be bringing both Dan and Jaimon back to Belle Vue. This is not only a massive coup for speedway in Manchester, it’s a massive coup for all of British Speedway.

“We can’t wait to see all these guys in action and wearing the Aces’ iconic race suit come the new season in March.”

The club expects to issue an update on the Belle Vue Colts Class of 2023, NDL fixtures and Colts season tickets once the full AGM has taken place in the New Year.
