Aces prepare for busy August

Belle Vue kick off a busy August with a highly anticipated visit from the Ipswich Witches this Monday, August 2 as they look to cement their place in the Premiership top four.

The BikeRight Aces have only made four home appearances so far in 2021 after re-scheduling many of their earlier meetings to post ‘Freedom Day’.

With their calendar now chock-a-block for the coming weeks, they are ready to ramp up the pressure on the league leaders in their bid to finish in top spot.

A slight tweak to the riding order sees Dan Bewley, who has been in sublime form since the start of the year, step up to No.1 with Brady Kurtz switching to the No.5 race jacket.

And with the Witches clinging onto fourth place in the table, the BikeRight Aces are targeting nothing less than a hefty home win to preserve their own league ranking.

Jye Etheridge will sit out of this critical top flight clash following his crash at Berwick on July 31 with Ipswich also running R/R for Jason Crump at No.1, who is still recovering from previous injuries.

Aces supremo Mark Lemon said: “Jye is quite battered and bruised but, amazingly, hasn’t broken any bones so we hope it will not be too long before he is back with us.

“We’re getting down to the business end of the season now and the shootout for the top four is getting more intense with each meeting.

“The fact that we have a run of home fixtures over the coming weeks, and only two more meetings away, could very well play into our hands.

“We have already shown that we can defeat Ipswich convincingly here in Manchester and I will expect nothing less than for all of the boys to so again come Monday.”

The Premiership kicks it into high gear in August in Manchester, with the BikeRight Aces taking on Ipswich on August 2 before the retuen of the Peterborough Panthers to the NSS on August 9.

Tickets for these and all 2021 fixtures are now available, unrestricted, online at bellevue-speedway.com and we would encourage all our supporters to buy online where possible.
